July 18, 2016: The pour. Concrete, that is.
It wasn't what I expected to see weather wise, but the rain held off until just before all the concrete was poured. We could tell it had rained the day before - the air has a certain smell and there was no dust as we drove down the gravel road. I love watching the weather coming in and storm clouds forming over the mountains. There were even a few lighting strikes to the east but I'm not a good enough photographer to capture one.
This is my favorite photo of the day.

And this was taken as we were leaving.
July 16, 2016: Ready for concrete
It was a sunny but windy day with ominous clouds to the north. We came over for a meeting with the other folks who share the well. All good people and we are happy to have them as neighbors.
The crew has been working on the forms for the concrete pour on Monday. I know nothing about foundations but this looks good to me. Certainly there is a lot of rebar.
This is where the 30 foot fireplace will be - between the main house and garage. I see us out there in the winter with a fire wrapped up in Pendleton blankets sipping something hot.

The apples just keep getting bigger and pinker (pinker: is that a word?). Didn't see any insect stings on them either so I tasted one. Not ready. Definitely not ready.
